Strata
Terms

The deal, in plain words.

These terms are the agreement between you and WheyDev LLC for using Strata. We tried to keep them short and honest. Last updated May 28, 2026.

1. The basics

Strata is a product of WheyDev LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States. By using Strata — the web app, the Telegram bot, or any public share page we publish — you agree to these terms. If any part of them does not work for you, please do not use the service.

2. What Strata does

Strata is a small, calm, personal product. You capture one day in a short Telegram conversation: two numbers on a 1–5 scale and an optional word. The web app stores those layers and renders them as a 3D record you can explore. Strata is not a medical or mental-health service, it is not therapy, it is not diagnosis, and it does not give advice. It is a journal whose visual form happens to be 3D.

3. Your account

You need to be at least 18 years old to use Strata, or have your parent or guardian's consent. You sign in with Google. One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure, since that is what gates access to your Strata record.

4. Plans and billing

Strata has three tiers. Free is permanent and unlimited in time; it shows your most recent 90 days and exports a watermarked 1080-pixel PNG. Pro is an annual subscription that unlocks the full history, every theme, and clean full-resolution exports. Founding is a one-time, lifetime purchase that grants Pro forever at a locked-in price. Founding is limited to 500 lifetime buyers; once filled, the tier closes and the price moves up.

Pro and Founding are billed through Polar, our payment processor. We never see or store your card details. You are charged in US dollars; your bank may apply a foreign exchange fee, which is between you and your bank.

We may change our prices. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any change takes effect on your account, and a Founding Member's lifetime price is never affected.

5. Cancelling and refunds

Pro.You can cancel at any time from the Polar customer portal linked on your settings page. When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the current annual period — your history does not vanish on the same day you cancel — and then your account drops to Free. Your captured days are not deleted; the older ones are simply hidden behind the Free tier's 90-day window until you upgrade again.

Founding. Founding is a one-time purchase, so there is nothing recurring to cancel. If you change your mind within 14 days of purchase and have not generated more than a trivial amount of usage, email support@whey.dev and we will refund it. After 14 days, Founding is non-refundable in exchange for the lifetime price.

Pro refunds. If you change your mind within 14 days of buying Pro and have not generated more than a trivial amount of usage, email support@whey.dev and we will refund it. After 14 days, we do not refund Pro for the remainder of the annual period — cancel and you keep access through the year you already paid for. If Strata is broken on our end for an extended period and you ask, we will make it right.

6. Ending your account

You can end your account at any time by emailing support@whey.dev from the address on the account. We will delete your user row, which cascades to every captured day, your streak state, your Telegram link, and every share link you have minted. The only data that survives is what US tax and accounting law requires us to keep (basic billing records — see our Privacy Policy). We may also end an account ourselves, with notice, if it is being used in a way that breaks these terms or puts other users or the service at risk.

7. Acceptable use

  • Use Strata for your own personal record. Don't use the bot for anyone other than yourself.
  • Don't try to forge entries on someone else's account, bypass plan limits, or claim a Telegram chat you don't own.
  • Don't scrape the web app, the API, or public share pages, or run automated tooling that imitates a human capturing days.
  • Don't use Strata to host illegal content or content that infringes someone else's rights. The notes field is for your own life, not anyone else's.
  • Don't try to break the service. We run a small product; please act like a guest.

8. Your content, our product

Your captured days — the mood and energy scores, the notes, the dates — belong to you. We hold them in our database so the dashboard can render them and so the bot can carry the conversation, and we do not claim any ownership of that content. The Strata name, brand, the Obsidian & Aurora design system, the 3D renderer, the code that runs the service, and everything you see on the marketing site belong to WheyDev LLC.

When you mint a share link, you grant us a narrow license to render the slice you selected on a public page, with your notes removed, for as long as that link is active. Revoking the link revokes that license.

9. The “as is” part

Strata is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to make it useful, calm, and reliable, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available, free of bugs, or perfectly preserved against every kind of failure.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, WheyDev LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Strata — and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

Strata is not a substitute for medical advice or mental health care. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional or a local emergency service — not a journaling app.

10. Third-party services

Strata relies on Google (sign-in), Telegram (the bot surface), Supabase (database and auth), Polar (payments), Vercel (hosting), and PostHog (signed-in dashboard analytics). Your use of each of those is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for outages, policy changes, or data handling on those services; if one of them changes in a way that affects Strata, we will tell you.

11. If Strata is discontinued

Strata is built and operated by a small team, and the honest version is that nothing on the internet runs forever. If WheyDev LLC ever decides to discontinue Strata — wind it down, sell it on, or stop accepting new captures — we will email every active account at least 30 days before the shutdown date. During that window:

  • Pro subscriptions stop renewing immediately. You will not be charged for any annual period that begins after the discontinuation notice.
  • We will refund the unused portion of any Pro year that has already been billed, prorated from the shutdown date.
  • Founders are refunded a fair, prorated portion of the lifetime price, calculated against a reasonable baseline (we will publish the formula with the notice).
  • You will be able to export your record — the visual record as a clean PNG, and a structured JSON export of every captured day — at no cost, regardless of your plan, for the full 30-day window.
  • On the shutdown date, we delete every user's data except the billing records US law requires us to keep. We do not transfer it, sell it, or hand it over to a third party, even if WheyDev LLC itself is sold or dissolved.

12. Privacy

The full picture of what we store and what we never share lives in our Privacy Policy. The short version: we collect only what we need to run Strata, we do not sell or share it, and we do not feed your notes into any AI service.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute we cannot resolve directly will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you and we both agree to that venue.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Strata evolves. If we make a material change — anything that meaningfully shifts your rights, our responsibilities, or how we handle your data — we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the new version takes effect. Continuing to use Strata after that date is your agreement to the new terms. Older versions are kept on request.

15. Contact

Anything in here unclear, or anything you need that isn't covered? Email support@whey.dev and we will get back to you.
